LONDON'S LEADING JACK THE RIPPER TOUR
Since 1982 our Jack the Ripper tour has been introducing Londoners and visitors alike to the dark alleyways and sinister thoroughfares where the Jack the Ripper murders occurred. We are one of the longest established and best known Jack the Ripper tour operators with an unrivalled reputation for quality and reliability.
Our guides are experts who know this fascinating subject inside out. They are not "resting" actors who have simply learnt a script. Our guides are familiar with every twist and turn of this intriguing murder mystery and you will find them both willing and able to answer any questions you may have.
We visit more of the actual murder sites than any other Jack the Ripper tour. In addition we show you genuine Victorian photographs of the streets through which you walk.
Ours is the ONLY one of the Jack the Ripper tours that starts in the heart of the district where the murders occurred. We follow a more atmospheric route than any other Jack the Ripper Walk. From the first narrow cobbled alley that we enter (which often draws gasps of surprise from tour participants) to the moment we enter Mitre Square to stand on the exact spot where Jack the Ripper's fourth victim was murdered you will be taken on a spine chilling journey back to the autumn of 1888. A great number of the buildings covered in the first hour of our tour are still just as they were when the ripper roamed the shadows.
But, to get the full atmosphere of those long ago nights, when terror stalked the shadows and the people of the area walked in constant fear, you really need to be part of a sensibly sized group. You don't want to be part of one of the cattle drive tours where the organisers cram as many people onto it as they possibly can. To that end we are the ONLY Jack the Ripper tour operator that limits the number of participants to a sensible and manageable number. If some-one tells you to just turn up without booking they cannot control their numbers and there is a good chance that you will end up being herded round in a huge cattle drive that might number 70 or more people and might even be as many as 200-300 people all of whom are struggling to hear one guide. Would you really enjoy that?
Our approach has always been different. We want to control the numbers so that those who join us on the Jack the Ripper tour enjoy a more intimate and chilling experience. The old alleys we take you into cannot accommodate the massive groups that have become the norm for several Jack the Ripper Tours.
We think it important that you should get to experience the area as it was and that you get to visit as many of the murder sites as can be covered on a walking tour of Jack the Ripper's London. Our smaller numbers mean we can cover a wider area. They mean that we can fit comfortably into those sinister, dark alleyways that present the true ambience of the Victorian East End.
But we also want the tour to be as informative and comprehensive as possible. That is why we are constantly honing our route and looking into ways of bringing you the most authentic Jack the Ripper tour. That is why we are constantly researching Victorian photo collections to see if we can find forgotten photographs of the east End Streets that help paint an even clearer picture of what the streets through which you walk looked like in 1888.
At the end of the tour we take you to Aldgate Underground Station, so don't worry you won't be left to find your own way out of Jack the Ripper's London.
