THERE ARE FOUR EXITS FROM ALDGATE EAST
Aldgate East has exits at both ends of its platforms. Exits 1 and 2 are at the west end of the platforms; exits 3 and 4 are at the east end of the platforms.
LOOK FOR THE PLATFORM SIGNS TO THE WHITECHAPEL ART GALLERY
When you get off the train be sure to look for the platform signs that point to the Whitechapel Art Gallery. This is situated outside Exit Three of the Station, Exit Four, outside which our Jack the Ripper Tour meets is on the opposite side of the road.
DON'T JUST HEAD FOR THE FIRST EXIT YOU SEE
Please don't get off the train and then go out of the first exit you see. You need to be sure that you are following the platform signs for the Whitechapel Art Gallery.
SO HERE ARE THE DIRECTIONS TO FOLLOW
99% of our clients have no problem finding Exit Four of Aldgate East Underground Station. Those who encounter problems have, invariably, just headed for the first exit they see as they disembark from the train.
EXIT FOUR IS REACHED LIKE THIS
To reach Exit Four please go by these directions.
If you are coming from Central London please be sure to turn right off the train. Go up the stairs and, once through the ticket barrier Exit Four is the one on the right. We meet on the pavement at the top of the stairs outside Exit Four.
If you are coming from East London then simply reverse the above guidelines by turning left off the train, go through the ticket barrier, and you will find Exit Four on the right.
IF YOU FIND YOURSELF OUTSIDE THE LEMAN EXIT
If you find yourself outside the Leman Street Exit, then you have turned the wrong way off the train and have come out of the wrong exit.
However, it's just a short stroll to Exit Four. Simply cross over Leman Street, keep ahead past the Lloyds TSB Bank, cross over the next road and you will arrive at Exit Four where the tour meets.
We meet on the pavement directly outside the exit in front of the Habib Bank, which is the green and white building in the photo.
