THE ONLINE JACK THE RIPPER RESOURCE

Jack the Ripper Tour - Whitechapel High Street 1888.

YOU CAN STUDY THE CASE BEFOREHAND

WE ARE THE ONLY JACK THE RIPPER WALK TO OFFER YOU THIS

We are the Jack the Ripper Tour specialists and, as part of our commitment to providing you with as much information as possible on the Jack the Ripper mystery, we are the only Jack the Ripper Walks company to provide our clients with a full and in depth Jack the Ripper online historical resource.

THE REASON WE DO THIS IS BECAUSE WE SPECIALISE

We want to give you as much information as possible. We want you to use our site as a resource that will answer any questions you might have on Jack the Ripper.

Our guides are acknowledged experts in the field of Jack the Ripper studies and are up to date on every twist and turn of the Jack the Ripper mystery.

The majority of guides who do Jack the Ripper Tours do them as just one of many tours they offer. They don't take the time, nor do they have the interest, in keeping up to date with the latest theories and information that has come to light. They'll do a Jack the Ripper Walk tonight, a London Panoramic Tour in the morning, a trip to Shakespeare's Stratford the next day and a trip to Windsor the day after that.

WE STUDY, RESEARCH AND DISCOVER NEW INFORMATION

We specialise in Jack the Ripper Tour. We are constantly honing and updating our walk to ensure it is up to date on all the latest facts and theories. And when we find a fact or a theory we actually post it on our resource website.

HERE'S AN EXAMPLE

In November 2009 the asylum records of Thomas Cutbush, a major contemporary suspect, were opened to the public for the first time. Richard Jones and Paul Begg were the first in line at the Berkshire Records Office to view the files. By 5pm on the day that the files had opened, we had posted a transcript of the information they contained on the Jack the Ripper online resource.

HERE'S ANOTHER EXAMPLE

In June 2010 we launched a new initiative on our online resource entitled This Week In 1888. The premise behind this resource is quite simply to take a particular week of the year and publish a selection of the newspaper articles about the East End of London that were being reported in  the press in that corresponding week in 1888.

As such this invaluable resource allows you to gauge the mood in the East End of London in the months leading up to Jack the Ripper's so-called reign of terror; during the ten or so weeks that the ripper was at large in the area; and throughout the closing months of 1888, as the local residents attempted to come to terms with the horrors that had occurred in their midst.

YOU CAN EVEN WATCH OUR FILMS ON THE CASE

But our resources to help you gain a deeper understanding of the ripper case don't stop there. We are the only Jack the Ripper Walks company to have produced several acclaimed DVD's on the case. We have been filming the area where the murders occurred, and acquiring old photographs of the streets as they were at the time of the murders, for the last twenty years. These are now available for you to watch online on our dedicated Jack the Ripper Films page. These films are not shameless plugs for our Jack the Ripper walk, but rather are content rich videos that provide you with lots of valuable information on the Jack the Ripper case.

WHY DO WE PROVIDE SO MUCH INFORMATION?

You'll find that most companies will give you very little information before your actually pay them for your tour. Our attitude is different. We want you to be able to know as much about the case as you wish to learn Before you join our tour.

That way, you will have a much more enjoyable and rewarding experience. By studying the facts about the case in advance, you'll be able to join the tour with a reasonable understanding of the events and people involved in the Jack the Ripper saga. That way you'll be able to form your own opinion about the various aspects of the case and be able to discuss them with your guide.

And because Jack the Ripper is our speciality, as you will be able to see from our online resource, your guide won't give you a blank stare, or give you the standard response that guides are trained to give a customer who asks a question that they can't answer "I shall look up the answer and get back to you" (yeah right!) They will be able to answer your question immediately.
